Why is a cover page important?
A cover page sets the tone for entire month in your bullet journal. It's the first thing you see when you open your journal, and it can inspire and motivate you throughout the month. A well-designed cover page not only looks aesthetically pleasing but also helps you stay organized and focused on your goals. In this post I will show you my process of creating a cover page step by step.
Step 1: Choose a theme
The first step in creating your November cover page is to choose a theme. Think about what November means to you. Is it all about cozy sweaters and hot cocoa? Or maybe it's a month of gratitude and reflection. Once you have a theme in mind, gather inspiration from magazines, Pinterest, or even nature. Let your creativity flow! For this year November cover page I choose autumn leaves and pumpkins theme and this why my choice of stickers was one of our bestsellers - Fall planner sticker set fall stickers, autumn leaves and pumpkin bujo sticker set
Step 2: Gather your supplies
Before you start designing your cover page, make sure you have all the necessary supplies. Here's a list of essentials: A bullet journal or planner Pens, markers, or colored pencils Stickers or stencils (optional) I usually chose colors that would match stickers I'm using for my planner spread and, of course, always use black liner pen and light gray brush pen.
Step 3: Plan your layout
Now it's time to plan your layout. Consider the elements you want to include on your cover page, such as the month name, a calendar, or any other decorative elements. Sketch out a rough draft on a separate piece of paper before transferring it to your journal. This will help you visualize the final design. Then use pencil to sketch your layout in your journal. Step 4: Bring your design to life
Once you have your layout planned, it's time to bring your design to life. Start by outlining the main elements using a pen or marker. Then, fill in the details with colors or stickers. Don't be afraid to experiment and make mistakes. Remember, it's your journal, and it should reflect your unique style. I start with outlining the frame of my page and placing the 'November' sticker to highlight the composition.
Then I outline the biggest elements in my spread - calendar and frames.

Step 5: Add finishing touches
Now that your design is almost complete, it's time to add some finishing touches. Consider adding decorative stickers and hand-lettered quotes, washi tape borders, or even some doodles. These small details can take your cover page to the next level and make it truly special. I always use decorative stickers for my planner because I often don't have time to draw or do lettering in my planner.
With brush pens I outline headlines and add lines for my lists of books and goals
Step 6: Reflect and set goals
Take a moment to reflect on the upcoming month and set some goals. Use your cover page as a reminder of what you want to achieve. Whether it's personal, professional, or creative goals, write them down and refer back to them throughout the month.
